Whale Watching Trip Report – July 25, 2026
So Much Tail Slapping Along the Jersey Shore!
Passengers aboard the Jersey Girl for our 12:30 p.m. Jersey Shore whale watching tour were treated to an incredible performance by a juvenile humpback whale identified as NYC0332 in the NYC Humpback Whale Catalog.
This energetic young humpback repeatedly tail slapped and threw its tail high above the surface, giving everyone on board an unforgettable look at one of the most exciting whale behaviors seen off the New Jersey coast. The whale continued the display again and again, creating an amazing show for our passengers, photographers, families, and wildlife enthusiasts.
Our whale watching trips depart from Belmar, New Jersey, and explore the productive waters off the northern Jersey Shore. Depending on where whales and dolphins are feeding, our tours may travel past Asbury Park, Deal, Long Branch, Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright, and surrounding coastal areas.
For guests searching for Long Branch whale watching tours, Monmouth Beach whale watching, or Asbury Park whale watching, Jersey Shore Whale Watch offers convenient departures from nearby Belmar aboard the spacious and newly upgraded Jersey Girl.
Every trip is different because wildlife in the Atlantic Ocean changes from hour to hour. Passengers may see humpback whales, fin whales, minke whales, bottlenose dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, rays, tuna, seabirds, and other marine wildlife found along the New Jersey coastline.
Join us tomorrow for another Jersey Shore whale watching adventure! Come experience the excitement of searching for whales and dolphins aboard one of the largest and most powerful whale watching vessels in the region.
