On Sunday, May 19, we embarked on a whale watching trip off the Long Branch Beach area. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and the weather was perfect, with summer-like temperatures adding to the enjoyment. Our group was excited to be back on the water, and the conditions couldn’t have been better for a day of whale watching.
As we set out, the anticipation was high. Not long into our journey, we spotted a whale. The sight of such a magnificent creature so close to the shore was breathtaking. The whale’s presence set the tone for the rest of the trip, and we knew we were in for an exciting afternoon.
But the whale wasn’t the only highlight. We also encountered a large group of dolphins. Approximately 50 dolphins were swimming playfully in the water, not far from where we were. It was an incredible sight to see them so close to the shore, only about a mile off the beach. The dolphins were active and put on quite a show, leaping and swimming alongside our boat. Their playful antics delighted everyone on board and added a sense of wonder to the trip.
The entire experience was filled with action and excitement. Being out on the water, surrounded by such amazing marine life, was truly special. It felt great to be back in the natural environment, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the cool breeze of the ocean. The combination of good weather, calm seas, and abundant wildlife made for a memorable outing.
