The last two days of whale-watching trips were truly fantastic midweek excursions. On Wednesday, we had 125 people on board, and today, Thursday, we hosted 100 people, including several school groups. The kids were ecstatic to be out of school for a day and on the ocean. Their excitement was palpable, especially when they spotted two humpback whales and numerous dolphins. The joy in their voices was infectious, and it was heartwarming to see them enjoy such a unique experience.
For many of these children, coming from various parts of New Jersey, a boat trip is a rare luxury. We were thrilled to provide them with this opportunity. On Thursday, our journey took us off the coast of Long Branch, Deal, Asbury Park, Belmar, and Bradley Beach. On Wednesday, we were near Manasquan, Bayhead, Spring Lake, and Seaside Heights. The kids were treated to stunning views of New Jersey’s beautiful coastline while learning about the marine environment.
Our tours also include educational segments about the importance of marine conservation. We discussed the impact of releasing balloons into the atmosphere, which often end up in the ocean, posing a threat to marine life. Unfortunately, we did spot some balloons in the water, likely remnants of school graduations.
