We had an awesome whale watching trip today, photos on the way June 30th 2021. So on every trip we make an announcement saying we need everybody’s eyes on the ocean to find the whale. Today it was a passenger who saw the whale breach as we had passed it, they started banging on the boat, whale whale stop. We stopped and thier was our beautiful humpback whale, about 30 minutes after we had seen hundreds of dolphins today off Sea Bright beach.we all loved it! What an amazing day.

We started our trip in heavy fog and light rain. We used our state-of-the-art live weather radar to avoid the storm and in doing so we found over 100 dolphins right off Spring Lake Beach. We then headed north going through huge schools of bunker fish, the whales’ preferred food. Our naturalist, Danielle, spotted a humpback whale inshore around the Monmouth Beach area. At the same time, the skies cleared to bright sunshine and the full boat enjoyed a spectacular humpback whale show!

We have seen dolphins everywhere this week on our whale watching trips. The great thing about dolphins is there are usually whales nearby when there’s a big pod of dolphins. Dolphins were pushing the bunker to shore in a feeding frenzy. Sometimes they (dolphins and whales) will push the bunker or bait fish onto shore which happened last week at Asbury Park. Dolphins will often ball up bait fish and feed on them using the shore to keep the school in place to feed.

Friday reports was just like every other day this week.We saw hundreds of dolphins and multiple Humpback whales along the coastline of Monmouth County New Jersey.

Went whale watching and saw lots of dolphins and hung out with 2 whales. Saw whale 131 again and another whale (242?) I forgot. Both had been entrapped in fishing gear and are now doing fine. You can see the scars on the side of the body of a propellers. Also both have abnormal tails and one is missing part of its dorsal fins. So beautiful, so relaxing, so much fun! They fished a helium balloon out of the ocean. Please, it you have a helium balloon, dispose of it safely, do not release them. If they fly off, more then likely, they will wind up in the ocean and maybe these whales or other sea creatures will eat it. Not good!

It has been a bountiful summer for bunker in the waters off New Jersey , and for local whale spotters. Bunker, a favorite food of many larger predators, including whales, are enjoying another year in a 15 long recovery.

It turned out to be a beautiful day on the ocean today!  The fog finally lifted and the sun came out. It didn’t take us long to find some dolphins but our main focus was finding whales.  And we found a whale just a few miles north right off the coast of Asbury Park. Danielle, our naturalist, quickly identified the whale and it was no ordinary whale.  This whale made national news last summer because he was entangled in a mess of buoys and fishing line of the coast of Rockaway, NY.   The amount of fishing gear entangled around the whale’s tail weighed over 4,000 lbs and was essentially anchoring the whale in place.  The whale could barely lift its head out of the water to breathe.  It took 3 days and several conservation rescue organizations including the US Coast Guard to free the whale.  The whale suffered lacerations all over its  body and deep lacerations on its tail.  They were hopeful but not sure if the whale was going to survive its injuries.  We are happy to report that this whale did survive and has returned to the feeding grounds at the Jersey Shore!  This whale has an amazing rescue story and it was amazing to see him today!  Come on our whale watching trips and maybe you can see him, too!  We have a large, comfortable boat, air conditioned cabin, and friendly crew.  Great family fun! We had to go far on Father’s Day to find the whales, We saw plenty of dolphins in the way I was up with New York City in the background  it was beautiful it was a long day.

We had a long trip close along the Monmouth County coastline Saturday June 19th whale watching. Full boat Saturday, we saw hundreds of dolphins and a few whale sightings including a beautiful lunge feed right next to the boat, we hit a brief light summer rain shower on our way home. We passed Seabright Monmouth beach, long branch Deal and a few more shore towns.The children on board the boat are great to listen to,thier exciting little voices and the way they describe the whales and dolphins! Monmouth County, NJ

Today we saw a large pod of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and we saw one humpback whale.

It was a beautiful day out on the ocean today! We spotted a very large, active pod of dolphins as soon as we got out in the ocean.  After getting plenty of photos of the dolphins, we headed north towards Asbury Park. It wasn’t long before we found a humpback whale.  The whale gave us plenty of photo opportunities as he remained pretty close to the surface the whole time. There was also an abundance of bunker all around. Bunker fish are Atlantic menhaden, small fish that school together that the whales love to feed on. Everyone had a great time! Today June 14 whale watching trip was epic we saw 100 dolphins within 10 minutes of leaving the inlet a Shark River Belmar New Jersey heading north towards the Avon  by the sea Bradley Beach Ocean Grove a Asbury Park, and then encountered three different humpback wells about 2 miles from sure here is a photo of two of them side-by-side breathing swimming and feeding together there’s a third one there also and then just we thought the day was finished we went south towards Manasquan Inlet for the fourth wheel of the day tell slapping lunging feeding off of point Pleasant.
We had a small crowd on the boat everyone was thrilled only about 30 people I would say it was probably the highlight of their summer to see four wells 100 dolphins and have a beautiful day on the ocean there’s a lot of kids in the boat I hope you enjoy the photos come out soon it’s fun for all ages

We had a successful whale watching trip today Monday June 4th we spotted whales off Asbury park New Jersey. We also saw 50 Dolphins in the same area near Ocean Grove.
