🐋 Whale Watching Report — Saturday, November 1, 2025
Belmar, New Jersey
We went whale watching yesterday knowing it might be a challenge to find whales so soon after a major coastal storm — but that’s what makes every trip so exciting, you never know what you’ll see out there!
Not long after leaving the inlet, we found huge pods of bottlenose dolphins — hundreds of them! They were incredibly active and social, with plenty of splashing, tail-slapping, and even some playful leaps right alongside the boat.
We cruised north toward Long Branch, then headed east and back south past Belmar Beach, exploring an area rich with bird life — gulls, gannets, and terns filled the sky, diving and feeding all around us. It truly felt like the ocean was alive with energy, even if the whales decided to stay hidden today.
It was an amazing day to be on the water, with passengers celebrating a wedding anniversary and a birthday on board — memories made with dolphins, seabirds, and calm fall seas.
Tomorrow’s forecast looks beautiful, so don’t miss your chance to experience the final weeks of our fall whale-watching season. Every day brings something new out on the ocean — join us aboard the Jersey Girl, the only full-time whale-watching boat in New Jersey!
