Trip Report – Friday, October 10, 2025
There’s a reason Jersey Shore Whale Watch has earned over 2,000 five-star reviews on Google — our crew goes above and beyond to make every trip unforgettable. Today’s three-hour tour turned into nearly four hours on the water, and our guests were rewarded with an incredible variety of sightings.
We started from Belmar, heading out toward Shark River Reef, then over to Manasquan and Spring Lake where pods of dolphins played alongside the boat. From there, we traveled north past Asbury Park, Allenhurst, and Deal, where the highlight of the day appeared — a magnificent humpback whale that surfaced close enough for everyone to capture amazing photos. Along the way, we also spotted a graceful ocean sunfish (Mola mola) and even a few sharks, making it a true New Jersey marine safari. We even saw a sea turtle
Although the skies were overcast, the crystal-clear water made spotting wildlife easy and comfortable on the eyes. Trips in October and November are some of the very best for whale watching in New Jersey, and today’s adventure was proof of that. We’re planning to head back out tomorrow, Saturday, October 11, before a coastal storm moves in for a couple of days.
Remember, every trip with us is unique — you never know what you’ll see — but you can always count on our crew to give you a safe, exciting, and comfortable experience. Our boat, the Jersey Girl, offers a heated cabin, plenty of indoor seating, and the largest outdoor deck space of any whale watching boat in the New York–New Jersey area.
