Our Whale Sightings Guarantee
See a Whale or Come Back Again
We see whales so frequently along the Jersey Shore that we are able to offer our guests
something very few whale watching companies can offer.
If you do not see a whale on your qualifying 3 hour whale watching trip, you may return
for another qualifying whale watching trip during the same season with complimentary return tickets.
It is important to understand exactly what our guarantee means.
This Is a Return Trip Guarantee, Not a Money Back Guarantee
Our Whale Sightings Guarantee has no cash value and is not, and has never been,
a money back guarantee.
If your qualifying trip does not see a whale, your original ticket purchase is not refunded.
Instead, we provide complimentary return tickets so you have another opportunity to come whale
watching with us during the same season.
What Does It Cost to Come Back?
Your return tickets are complimentary. There is only a rebooking fee for the reservation.
1 or 2 passengers: $25 total rebooking fee
3 or more passengers: $35 total rebooking fee
This is per reservation, not per person.
For example, if four people are returning under the Whale Sightings Guarantee, the total
rebooking fee is $35 for the entire reservation, not $35 for each passenger.
Why Is There a Rebooking Fee?
There are real costs associated with administering and operating these complimentary return trips.
Guarantee reservations require our office staff to manually verify the original trip, issue the
complimentary tickets and rebook the passengers. The return passengers also occupy seats on
another trip aboard Jersey Girl.
With today’s fuel, crew and operating costs, we need to recover a small portion of those expenses
in order to continue offering the Whale Sightings Guarantee.
We are able to keep offering this program because
we see whales so often that relatively few trips need to use the guarantee.
For qualifying trips taken after Labor Day, complimentary return tickets may be used during the remainder of the current season or the following spring. If used the following spring, the return trip must be completed before Memorial Day weekend and cannot be used during Mother’s Day weekend.
Why We Offer the Guarantee
Whales are wild animals. No captain, naturalist or whale watching company can control where a
whale will be on any particular day.
What we can control is how hard we look.
Our captains, naturalists and crew have years of experience finding whales off the New Jersey
coast, and Jersey Girl gives us the speed and range to search a large area when necessary.
Most days, we find them.
On the occasional trip when we do not, our guarantee gives you another opportunity to come back
and try again.
Important Guarantee Terms
The Whale Sightings Guarantee applies only to qualifying Jersey Shore Whale Watch trips
specifically advertised as including the guarantee.
The guarantee provides complimentary return tickets for another qualifying trip during the
same season.
The guarantee has no cash value and does not provide a cash or credit card refund
for the original trip.
Return reservations are subject to availability.
A rebooking fee of $25 total for reservations of one or two passengers or
$35 total for reservations of three or more passengers applies when complimentary
return tickets are booked.
The fee is per reservation, not per passenger.
Complimentary guarantee tickets expire at the end of the applicable whale watching season and
cannot be exchanged for cash.
Our Promise Is Simple
Come whale watching with us. If we do not find a whale on your qualifying trip, we will give
you another opportunity to come back that season with complimentary tickets.
That is our Whale Sightings Guarantee.
