This is your last chance to experience one of the rarest maritime events you’ll ever see.
Join us aboard the Jersey Girl on Wednesday, July 8, as we head to New York Harbor to witness the historic Five Sisters Cup. For the first time in 50 years, four legendary sister ships will set every sail and begin their race to Boston.
We will depart Belmar at 6:30 AM and head north to intercept the fleet as the ships leave Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. From there, we’ll follow them under sail toward Long Island, staying with them as long as practical before turning south for our return across the ocean to Belmar.
This is not a parade. This is the real thing—watching some of the world’s most famous tall ships begin an ocean race under full sail. It’s an experience very few people will ever have the opportunity to witness.
If you’re a lover of maritime history, sailing, photography, or simply enjoy once-in-a-lifetime adventures, this trip belongs on your bucket list.
This is also a photographer’s dream. Seeing these magnificent ships under full sail against the New York skyline and the open Atlantic is an opportunity that may not come around again for decades. Bring your camera, but remember our most important rule:
One hand for the boat. One hand for your camera.
A few important notes:
- This is an offshore ocean adventure, not a typical sightseeing cruise. Expect real ocean conditions, and the boat may roll at times.
- Passengers should be comfortable on their feet and able to board and move around the boat independently without mobility assistance.
- Please wear closed-toe sneakers or other non-slip shoes.
- If you are prone to motion sickness, this is probably not the trip for you. If you do join us, we strongly recommend taking Dramamine or your preferred motion sickness medication before boarding.
Our exact route and viewing opportunities will depend on the ships’ movements, weather, sea conditions, and any security restrictions in New York Harbor, but our mission is simple: put you in the best possible position to witness history under sail.
When these four legendary ships disappear over the horizon on their way to Boston, the opportunity will be gone.
Don’t miss your chance to be there.
