Meet the Crew of Jersey Shore Whale Watch
Behind every unforgettable trip aboard the Jersey Girl is a hardworking team of captains, naturalists, deckhands, and crew members dedicated to safety, hospitality, and helping guests experience the incredible whales and marine wildlife of the New York Bight.
The Team Behind the Jersey Girl
At Jersey Shore Whale Watch, our crew is one of the most important parts of the experience. Guests may come for the whales, but they return because of the professional, friendly atmosphere onboard. From the wheelhouse to the deck, every member of our team plays a role in creating a safe, educational, and exciting trip.
Our vessel operates from Belmar, New Jersey, and our crew is proud to welcome families, photographers, school groups, tourists, and locals alike aboard one of the most recognized whale watching boats in the region.
Professionalism, Safety, and Training
Running a successful whale watching operation requires more than enthusiasm for the ocean. Our crew is trained to help passengers board safely, move comfortably around the boat, and enjoy their trip with confidence. We take pride in maintaining a professional environment aboard the Jersey Girl, with clear procedures, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to passenger safety.

A Major Investment in the Boat and the Future
The Jersey Girl is undergoing major upgrades designed to strengthen the guest experience and the long-term future of the operation. Improvements include three brand new engines, new transmissions, new steering, a brand new exhaust system, a new air system, replacement air conditioning, and engine room modifications to improve airflow and cooling.
We are also working toward additional improvements including possible new windshields, depending on final project pricing. When completed, the boat will return ready to operate at her full legal capacity of 149 passengers.
These upgrades reflect a serious commitment to safety, reliability, comfort, and continued growth for Jersey Shore Whale Watch.
Exciting Events and Opportunities This Season
