#epic day so far with 6-8 #finback whales AND a #minkewhale on our 12:30pm whale watch! Finback whales are the 2nd largest whale in the world, growing upwards of 70 feet long! We have never seen this many fin #whales on a 3-hr trip! They were all moving fast, feeding on presumably sand lance near the bottom. There was also an unidentified #shark and more #shearwaters and Wilson’s storm petrels than we could count. Our 4:30pm trip is headed back out there right now!

Spotted today aboard the Jersey Girl with Jersey Shore Whale Watch, this incredible finback whale gave our passengers a spectacular view just a few miles off the New Jersey coast. Known as the second-largest animal on Earth, fin whales can reach lengths of up to 80 feet and are known for their sleek, torpedo-shaped bodies and breathtaking speed.
This whale surfaced calmly near our boat, allowing everyone on board to take in its sheer size and beauty. Photo captured by our talented naturalist Danielle, who helps our guests learn about these gentle giants and the marine ecosystem they call home.
Summer is prime time for sightings like this — join us soon and see what’s out there!

One of the finback whales was the same one with the injury that we saw back on July 2nd. Unfortunately, there was yet another whale in this group that had old propeller scars (see photo). Please tell your friends who are out #tuna #fishing right now to be careful of these whales, they are an endangered species!
Don’t miss out on the rare experience to see an #ocean giant! Next trip is #Tomorrow at 12:30pm!
