June 25th Whale Watching Report – Aboard the Jersey Girl
Today’s trip started under sweltering summer skies, but as soon as we hit the ocean, the cool sea breeze and water temps around 67–70°F gave us instant relief. We headed south toward the Lavallette area for a longer journey than usual—and our patience was rewarded.
About five miles off Spring Lake, we encountered two very active humpback whales putting on a show! We extended the trip by an extra 45 minutes so everyone could enjoy watching them feed—truly a sight to remember.
Along the way, we passed stunning views of the Jersey Shore’s southern towns—Point Pleasant, Bay Head, Manasquan, Lavallette, and more—lined with beautiful homes and scenic coastline. These summer whale sightings are as breathtaking as the oceanfront backdrop itself.
Onboard, our snack bar was busy serving up snacks and light food. Many guests relaxed with the beer or wine they brought along, but ice-cold bottled water was the real MVP under the hot sun. Don’t forget sunscreen!
We’ll be posting photos and videos from today’s trip later, so stay tuned!
