**A Rare February Spectacle – Five Whales Off Belmar!**
Today, February 10, 2025, brought an extraordinary sight right from my deck overlooking the 10th Ave. Beach in Belmar. We spotted **five different whales**—including a magnificent finback. While none were particularly close, witnessing them in the distance was still breathtaking.
I managed to capture some **drone footage**, though I’ll need to review it to see if it’s worth sharing or just endless ocean. Either way, seeing **two pairs of whales along with a lone traveler** basking in the crisp, sunny February weather was a stunning experience. Sightings this early in the year are uncommon, but not unheard of—perhaps a sign of another incredible season ahead.
